The Danish Equestrian Federation (DRF ) has adopted a three-year recovery plan following a significant deficit in its 2024 accounts. According to interim director Jens-Erik Majlund, high extraordinary costs, including the move to new premises, the resignation of former director Morten Rodtwitt and the complete write-off of an IT system, are the main causes of the deficit of DKK 2.95 million.
In order to restore financial stability, savings and temporary increases in event and license fees are to raise equity to DKK 3 million by 2027. In addition, the position of elite manager for show jumping and eventing will be abolished and taken over by Majlund himself. At the same time, the association plans to invest in the development of riding clubs and horse welfare.
The aim is to generate an annual surplus of DKK 300,000 in order to reverse the price increases after the consolidation phase.
