(Redefin) The name says it all: Quick and Fly is the name of the nimble, 12-year-old chestnut mare with whom Mynou Diederichsmeier (Ahausen) was able to literally "outrun" all her colleagues in the jump-off for the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern "Land zum Leben" championship in 38.28 seconds. A small, lively chestnut mare and a small, petite rider thus entered the winners' list of the championship at the Horse Festival Redefin in. The 40-year-old Amazon and Quick and Fly have already won three major prizes in the first five months of the year. "We have had her for four years and now we are rewarded for the work and patience with her," the show jumper was pleased to say.
Behind the winner, the best rider from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern was Ulf Ebel (Polzow). Ebel sat in the saddle of the eleven-year-old mare Chaccolina, a daughter of the world's number one show jumper, Chacco-Blue, and granddaughter of the English thoroughbred Ussuri xxwho is responsible for many good offspring in the country's horse breeding. Third place went to Sven-Gero Hünicke from Fehmarn with the gray Devito.
That the mare Quick and Fly would develop in such a way was not readily foreseeable. The first impressions were rather unusual, says Mynou Diederichsmeier: "We saw her in an elementary level jumping competition and she stopped three times already at the first jump. Still, my sister and I thought the horse was interesting." Eventually, Quick and Fly was acquired after a trial period and then patiently introduced to her tasks. There is only one thing the chestnut mare has no patience for - award ceremonies.

The Minister of Agriculture Dr. Till Backhaus, to a certain extent the "landlord" at the Mecklenburg State Stud Redefin, was pleased about good sport, internationality and Mecklenburg quality, because guests from a total of 26 nations, the live broadcasts of the NDR Sportclub and not least the successes of riders on horses from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are proof of the advantages the state offers. Francois Kasselmann, organizer of the horse festival Redefin, underlined the advantages of the state stud as a location for international competition sport. Horse Festival RedefinIt is beautiful here, everything is here and with the new concept of internationalizing dressage we are on the right track. The riders are enthusiastic about the conditions here."

Horse festival also inspires dressage breed‍

Dressage rider Isabel Freese (Norway) has long been one of those who enjoy the Redefin Horse Festival; after all, she is a permanent guest at the event and, with Total Hope OLD, is favored for the Grand Prix Freestyle on Sunday in the Prize of Khui GmbH. Juliane Brunkhorst (Harsefeld) always likes to come and with Anna-Christina Abbelen (Bonn) there is a new fan. The rider won the Intermediaire I with her bright chestnut mare Quantanamera - called "Quanti". Abbelen, who currently rides at Hof Kasselmann, obviously feels "pudelwohl" in Redefin.
Her colleagues contribute to this. Lars Ligus from Hof Kasselmann - who was awarded the Golden Riding Badge just two weeks ago at Horses & Dreams in Hagen a.T.W. - won the qualification for the Bundeschampionat for German dressage horses (Prize of Paltz-Max, Rampelmann & Spliethoff) with the five-year-old Veuve Clicquot by Vitalis with a score of 8.3. The six-year-old dressage talents also competed in Redefin for the "tickets" to the Bundeschampionat and, as on the previous day, Lena Waldmann (Lienen) secured this with the Oldenburg mare Chere Celine with a score of 85.00 percent in the medium (M) level dressage test for young horses (Prize of Schwechower Obstbrennerei).
The Redefin Horse Festival offers no less than four dressage competitions in the advanced class. Horse Festival Redefin on Sunday, the highlight being the Grand Prix Freestyle. In the parcours, it's all about the final competitions of the individual tours with the absolute highlight, the Grand Prix of Deutsche Kreditbank AG, which will be broadcast live from 2:15 - 3:15 p.m. on NDR Sportclub.
