Münster (fn-press). Finally, equestrian sport in the Halle Münsterland again, and what a horse: Marie Ligges from Ascheberg near Münster won the Grand Prix of Münster in front of a sold-out home crowd.

Full house on all days and great sport at the end: This is how the resurrected tournament in Münster looked. After a break of two years due to the pandemic, the Agravis Cup in Münster has come back.
Already in the round, the 23-year-old Marie Ligges with Corvocado L put in the fastest zero-fault ride. They were the last pair to enter the jump-off and took two tenths of a second off the previous leaders, Mario Maintz (Altenberge) and his Hanoverian Oak Grow's Clown, who was only nine years old - their result was 34.30 seconds. The eleven-year-old Cornet-Obolensky son Corcovado L is bred by the Ligges family. "Actually, we didn't ride that fast," the 23-year-old confessed at the award ceremony. She simply wanted to ride her round well - and that then worked out brilliantly. Marie's father Kai Ligges was moved to tears after his daughter's victory. Because neither he nor his father Fritz Ligges had won the Grand Prix in Münster. "This means a lot to me."

The runner-up, Mario Maintz, was also pleased with the development of his nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion: "I built him up slowly through the Youngster Tour, even with setbacks. Now we have developed a wonderful relationship, we trust each other. It makes me very happy and proud when I ride with him in this arena and setting and feel that he is totally with me."

Third place went to Markus Renzel (Oer-Erkenschwick) with the eleven-year-old Holsteiner Canmore. Six pairs made it into the jump-off of the Grand Prix, a class S jumping competition****.
