Canadian show jumper Eric Lamaze has finally failed in his appeal against the ban imposed by the FEI. The International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed the sanctions for anti-doping rule violations, including the refusal to provide a doping sample at the CSI5* - GCT/GCL in Valkenswaard 2021.

In addition to the four-year ban already in place, CAS imposed a further four-year ban starting on September 12, 2027 and lasting until September 11, 2031. Lamaze was also fined CHF 15,000 and ordered to pay the costs of the proceedings and CHF 12,000 to the FEI. All results between June 5, 2021 and March 30, 2022 have been annulled.
