The 2025 international eventing season reached its first highlight with the opening weekend in Luhmühlen. Malin Hansen-Hotopp with Carlitos Quidditch K (Quiwi Dream x Cassini I) and Calvin Böckmann with Altair de la Cense (Jenny de la Cense x Haarlem) came out on top in the highly competitive CCI3*-S, which was held in two age divisions due to the large number of participants.

Hansen-Hotopp, a member of the Olympic squad, dominated her section in the 1994 and older age group right from the start and won with -26.1 points. Böckmann impressed in the younger age group with a flawless performance and secured first place with -31.3 points. For both riders, it was a successful start to a year that has further highlights in store, including a possible start in Kentucky or Luhmühlen.

Other German riders were also able to attract attention with top placings, including Ingrid Klimke, Pia Leuwer and Libussa Lübbeke. The event in Luhmühlen therefore not only marks the start of the outdoor season, but also sends out a promising signal for German eventing.
