On the tenth anniversary of its collaboration with the German Equestrian Federation (FN), the Horst Gebers Foundation is increasing its support for young German show jumping talent to almost 400,000 euros. The foundation, established in 2011 by Renate Gebers in memory of her husband Horst Gebers, thus remains the most important private sponsor in this area.
The increased sum will primarily benefit the regional associations in order to discover and train talent in a more targeted manner. In addition to measures for talent scouting and dressage training for squad riders in show jumping, individual development concepts of the associations will also be supported. The Federal Young Riders' Championships for pony riders and juniors with several competitions and a final tournament continue to be an integral part of the program.
Gerhard Schäfers, board member of the foundation, emphasizes the importance of the groundwork and refers to successful careers such as those of Maurice Tebbel or Philipp Schulze Topphoff, who once benefited from the support themselves. The German Youth Championships remain a central project, including an exclusive winner's course with Franke Sloothaak. The pony tour introduced in 2022 also underlines the growing commitment to pony show jumping.
