The gelding Minimax died at the age of 13, his rider and owner Janne Friederike Meyer announced on Instagram on Thursday evening.

"Much too early and completely unexpected", the 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding by Cornado I x Antaeus has started his journey over the Rainbow Bridge. During his daily grazing, Minimax suffered a severe, unreconstructable comminuted fracture. On Instagram, she shares .

"My beloved Minimax! You left us today, much too early and completely unexpected. Our whole team is in great mourning and I am so sad that I am at a loss for words. You were my beloved unicorn, my friend, my superstar, my hero and stand-up guy. You were the boss in the stables and a showman at tournaments. You loved the big stage. No obstacle was too high, no ditch too far and no audience too loud. You had a lot of fans and everyone wanted to take a picture with you. We will all miss you immensely and I will miss you most of all."

We say goodbye to Janne's character horse Minimaxwho not only captivated his rider and her team, but also many other people who admired him at shows and on social media. Perhaps it is fate that she was able to purchase Minimax's full brother at the Hanoverian licensing just two weeks ago.

Career

The son of Marcus Ehning's Cornado out of an Anataeus dam was born in 2009 in Sottrum at his breeder Wilhelm Harling. In May 2014, the gelding was presented by Nils-Cedric Stephan in his first tests for young show jumpers and won an elementary (L) level test for young show jumpers at his second show and placed in a medium (M*) level test for young show jumpers on the same day.

In October 2014, Janne F. Meyer competed for the first time with the 5-year-old Minimax in Hamburg-Friederichshulde and placed first several times in novice** - medium* level tests for young show jumpers. The gelding was trained by Janne herself and was named Minimax not because of his size, but because he reminded Janne of her former Grand Prix horse Callistro, called Max, when he was young.

After the successful show performance in 2014, Franz-Josef Dahlmann Jun. climbed into the saddle of the now 6-year-old Hanoverian gelding, rode him to several placings and qualified Minimax for the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf.

At the end of 2015, Meyer-Zimmermann got back in the saddle herself and brought the gelding up to advanced level. At the German Championships at Schloss Wocklum, the pair placed third in the Grand Prix.

This was followed by the first S*** victory for the then 8-year-old gelding and Meyer-Zimmermann at the CSI Donaueschingen. Several placings in the high class followed for Minimax in the next years. The pair won the Grand Prix at the Tournament of Winners, 3 weeks after Meyer-Zimmermann presented the gelding again at the farm's own tournament at Hof Waterkant after her baby break.
