The Swedish-bred Mickey M(Metall x Bonaparte), bred by Medorid AB, has been retired at the age of 19. As his rider Natalie Oldfors announced, her partner of many years will now be able to enjoy his well-deserved retirement at home.
Oldfors trained Mickey M himself from a young horse to international Grand Prix level. Despite initial doubts due to his small size, the gelding developed into an integral part of the Swedish dressage scene. The pair made their international debut in 2018 and recorded successes in Falsterbo, Hickstead and Tallinn, among others. The pair won a total of four World Cup competitions and took bronze at the Swedish Championships in 2022.
After their last show together in Tallinn 2024, Oldfors has now announced the retirement of Mickey Ms. With Näsviks Hazel Grace and Lollipop, Oldfors already has promising young horses for the future.
