As eurodressage.com reports, the French Olympic rider Morgan Barbançon has sold her top horse Habana Libre A (Zizi Top x United).
The 13-year-old KWPN gelding has therefore been transferred to Polish ownership, while Barbançon is not allowed to compete due to a doping ban that runs until October 2025.
Bred by Gerhard Ackermans and originally presented at the KWPN licensing in 2015, Habana Libre A developed into a Grand Prix horse over several stages. Since 2018, he has been under the saddle of Morgan Barbançon, who rode him to a 14th place in the freestyle final at the 2023 European Championships in Riesenbeck.
During her current break from competitions, the Belgian-based rider is concentrating on training and selling horses as well as her teaching activities. She described the sale of Habana as the right time and announced that she would like to compete in a few more competitions with her older Sir Donnerhall II before he retires.
Habana Libre A's new owner is 58-year-old British-Polish rider Anna Katarzyna Wilson, who has already competed internationally in the Small Tour and will now take over the gelding as a Grand Prix school horse.
