Imperial HBF moves from the UK to the USA

A change of horses in international show jumping: top British rider Tim Gredley is saying goodbye to his successful horse Imperial HBF, who will be competing for the USA under McLain Ward. The talented gelding made a name for himself in Nations Cups, World Cups and CSI5* Grand Prix competitions.

In an interview, Gredley described the sale as one of the hardest decisions of his career, as Imperial HBF had shaped his career and it was very emotional to let him go.

Imperial HBF was bred by Laura Tinto and trained by Alex Barr. The son of Glasgow van 't Merelsnest came into Gredley's possession in 2022, where he was carefully developed. Initially, the focus was on Medoc de Toxandria, which gave Imperial the time he needed to develop. Now a new chapter is beginning for the talented gelding: under McLain Ward, he will represent the American colors in the future and can be seen in the world's major show arenas.
