When a bay filly named Lordana is born on June 26, 2000, she is not predicted a future of colorful ribbons and glittering trophies. A career as a sports star is about as unlikely for her as it is for Lieschen Müller to be discovered as a Hollywood star in the pedestrian zone. The reason for this is the empty upper half of Lordana's pedigree: the foal's dam is the Oldenburg mare Zoe by Zeus, but who is the sire? The only one who could give an answer to that is probably Zoe herself. For breeder Rolf Hollenbeck and all other curious people, the identity of Zoe's secret affair will remain an unsolved mystery.

Today, the mare with the unknown sire is not known by her birth name Lordana, but as No Father's Girl. Show jumper Gilbert Böckmann buys her as a 5-year-old. It is a hesitant purchase decision because Böckmann also hesitates at the gap in the pedigree. Genetic tests are used to clarify the paternal lineage retrospectively. But the paternal lineage of No Father's Girlis and remains a secret.

"You can't ride on papers." Riders often say this so casually. No Father's Girl provides proof of this saying. She can be ridden very well and successfully: With Gilbert Böckmann, she finished third overall in the 2009 Riders Tour and won the Grand Prix of Münster. The following year, the pair came 2nd in the Bremen Grand Prix. In 2010 No Father's Girl was ranked 50th among the most successful show jumpers according to ranking points in the "Jahrbuch Sport und Zucht".

After the end of her successful, active career in sport No Father's Girl stays with Böckmann Pferde and becomes a broodmare. Her first foal, Carter 10, was born in 2013 as a son of Christian 25, and is himself competing in the big sport. Carter last competed in January under Maurice Tebbel in the advanced (S*) level show jumping competition at the Late Entry in Riesenbeck.

Today No Father's Girl is the dam of several foals bred by Böckmann. Her offspring also have an empty line in their pedigree from the dam's sire, but what difference does that make with this maternal role model?
