Oldenburg main licensing returns to November 2025

From January back to November

Contents

The Oldenburg main licensing will take place earlier in the year again from 2025. The new date is set for November 13-15, 2025, which means that two main licensing events will take place this year.

Breeding director Peer Eitenmüller justifies the decision with competitive disadvantages for the breeders, as other breeding associations were not prepared to move their licensing dates to January or February. In addition, it has been shown that a later licensing date does not necessarily lead to better development of the stallions. According to Eitenmüller, it is more important to keep an eye on the individual development of the stallions instead of following strict age requirements, and stallions with a particularly youthful appearance still have the opportunity to present themselves at the saddle licensing in April.
