Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping

Dutch Masters fourth stop next weekend

Contents

Since 2018, The Dutch Masters has been part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping and thus joins the exclusive series of the most prestigious show jumping tournaments. Together with the CHIO Aachen, the CSIO Spruce Meadows 'Masters' in Calgary and the CHI Geneva, it forms the four most important tournaments in show jumping.

Riders who win three of the four Grand Prix of the Rolex Grand Slam in a row will receive a bonus of 1 million euros. A further bonus of the same amount is awarded for a fourth Major victory in a row, while 500,000 euros are offered for two consecutive victories.

The trophy

The prestigious Rolex Grand Slam trophy was designed and crafted by the traditional London jeweler Garrard. Founded in 1735, the court jeweler, known for his work on the British Crown Jewels, created a true work of art in sterling silver.

With a height of 45 centimetres and a weight of two kilograms, the trophy impresses with its curved shape inspired by nature. The filigree spiral in the middle section turns towards the tulip-shaped body, while the Rolex Grand Slam logo has been artfully engraved on the front. The design was created by Corinna Pike, Heritage Director at Garrard, with the aim of creating a harmonious and dynamic aesthetic.

Scott Brash: A triumph for eternity

With his dedication, Scott Brash secured three Major victories in a row in 2014 and 2015 - an achievement that remains unsurpassed to this day. After his successes at the CHI Geneva 2014 and the CHIO Aachen 2015, he crowned his career with a third triumph at the Spruce Meadows 'Masters'.

His groundbreaking success still sets standards today. Top riders such as Henrik von Eckermann, Marcus Ehning, Daniel Deußer and the Swiss riders Martin Fuchs and Steve Guerdat have joined the ranks of Major winners, but no one has yet managed to equal Brash's record. The Rolex Grand Slam remains one of the greatest challenges in show jumping.
