
Successful season opener for Rath and Scholz in Ornago
German dressage riders dominate international tournament in Italy

Matthias Alexander Rath and Carina Scholz attracted attention with outstanding performances at the dressage tournament in Ornago, Italy. Rath won with Destacado FRH (Desperados FRH x Londonderry) in the Grand Prix of the freestyle tour with 73.630 percent, closely followed by Scholz and Montevideo (Millennium x Sancisco OLD), who secured second place with 71.130 percent. It was the first international Grand Prix for the Oldenburg stallion Montevideo.
The pair were also unbeatable in the freestyle: Rath and Destacado FRH triumphed with 79.370 percent, while Scholz and Montevideo once again took second place with 75.095 percent. The Grand Prix Special finally went to Carina Scholz, who scored 70.547 percent with Blue Hors Veneziano (Vivaldi x Donnerhall), relegating Amelie von Harsdorf with Daydream d'Arion (Don Diamond x Lauries Crusador xx) to second place.
With these successes, the German riders have already presented themselves in strong form early on in the season.
