Half a million dollars for six-year-old gelding

At the WEF Sporthorse Auction in Wellington, organized by VDL Stud, 14 show jumpers were auctioned off - 13 of them with a price tag of over 100,000 euros.
The top seller with 500,000 dollars was the six-year-old gelding VDL Obsession(Carrera VDL x Guidam), who went to Ariel Grange's Lothlorien Farm. He will be ridden by Daniel Coyle in the future.
Other top sellers were
- VDL Omthago(Comthago VDL x Harley VDL), finalist at the World Championships for young show jumpers in Lanaken, earned 350,000 dollars.
- VDL Morning Star(Carrera VDL x Indoctro), an eight-year-old gelding, was sold for 300,000 dollars.
- The 1.50 m experienced mare VDL Icarronne(Carrera VDL x Lord Z), who ran at international level under Maikel and Eric van der Vleuten, earned 290,000 dollars.
