As reported by the Hanover Equestrian Sports Association, the 19-year-old show jumper and horse manager Madlen Boy from Coppenbrügge died on March 6, 2025 after a serious training accident. The successful youth squad rider of the Hanover Equestrian Sports Association had recently been working as a rider in the training and sales stable of Japanese show jumper Tadahiro Hayashi in Rheine. Despite immediate first aid measures, her life could not be saved.
Jörg Münzner, former national show jumping coach, also had emotional memories of Madlen: "She wasn't just a talented rider, but a wonderful young woman - focused, determined and always warm."
With her successful mare Charlet Blue, Madlen Boy achieved second place in the team jumping competition at the Aachen Youngstars 2021 as well as victory in the Grand Prix of the Verden Youth Challenge. She was also successful internationally in Nations Cups up to advanced (S***) level. After losing Charlet Blue in the fall of 2024, she dedicated herself to training young horses.
