
Theo Ploegmakers steps down as EEF President

The European Equestrian Federation (EEF) has announced that President Theo Ploegmakers will step down from his position on April 1, 2025 for health reasons. Since his election in 2018, he has made a significant contribution to the further development of European equestrian sport, focusing in particular on animal welfare and sporting fairness.
FEI President Ingmar De Vos paid tribute to Ploegmakers' achievements and emphasized his influence on the development of the sport, particularly through the introduction of the Longines EEF Series. Ploegmakers was also active as an FEI Board Member and on the Commission for Equine Ethics and Welfare. The EEF and FEI pay him great respect for his achievements and wish him strength for the future.
