The equestrian competitions of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brisbane will take place in Toowoomba. This was officially announced by Queensland Premier David Crisafulli and Infrastructure Minister Jarrod Bleijie. The venue will be the Toowoomba Showground, which is to be extensively modernized in the future.

In collaboration with the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland, Equestrian Queensland is planning to develop an "Equestrian Center of Excellence". This center will meet international standards and provide space for over 300 riders. In addition to competitions at national and international level, the facility will also serve to train and promote equestrian sport in the long term.

Toowoomba Mayor Geoff McDonald was delighted with the decision and spoke of a historic opportunity for the region to implement new infrastructure projects that would hardly have been possible without the Olympic Games.
