The Oldenburg stallion Viva Gold OLD will continue his sporting career under Isabell Werth. He will remain in the possession of Gestüt Westfalenhof, but will no longer be available for fresh insemination.
Who is Viva Gold OLD?
The now nine-year-old Viva Gold OLD(Vivaldi x For Romance x Don Schufro) was bred by none other than Weihegold breeder Christine Arns-Krogmann. He was purchased as a foal by Eugenen Reesing for 140,000 euros. He was finally licensed privately by the licensing commission. Originally leased by Werner Gehring from Gestüt Westfalenhof, the latter acquired the stallion in spring 2019. In the same year, the stallion impressed for the first time under saddle in public at the 14-day performance test in Schliekau: 9.09 was the final dressage score, with the highest score of 10.0 being awarded for both walk and canter. As a stallion, Viva Gold OLD has already produced numerous licensed sons, including Viva Vegas, V-Power and Viva Diamond, and after impressing in two tests for young riding horses as a three-year-old with a good score (8.5 and 8.2), he qualified for the Bundeschampionat as a six-year-old under Kathrin Sudhölter. However, he was not presented there. Last year, he was finally presented in the advanced class for the first time and won the test with 72.660%.
