The Young Riders Academy has presented its new team for 2025: After an intensive selection process, eleven young riders from all over Europe have been accepted into the program, including Johanna Beckmann from Germany. The program will kick off in mid-April with a first training course under the direction of Franke Sloothaak at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre.
The selection process included practical riding lessons, theoretical tests and interviews. Not only technical skills were assessed, but also the candidates' personal values and visions for the future. The selection was led by experts such as Jens Fredricsson, Thierry Pomel and Jeroen Dubbeldam.
The academic component of the course begins in June at Franklin University in Switzerland. Further stations are Uppsala, Lausanne and Geneva. The aim of the program initiated by Eleonora Ottaviani is not only to promote young talent in sport, but also to prepare them for leadership roles within equestrian sport.
