Three runaways caused double police operations

n the Thuringian district of Sömmerda, runaway horses kept police and animal lovers on their toes for two days. At the weekend, witnesses initially reported six animals running loose near Haßleben. The police were able to track down the owner with the help of a nearby riding stables, whereupon the owner was able to catch the horses across the fields near Kranichborn - at least in part.
The following morning, the police received a new tip-off: Three horses were once again on the outskirts of Sömmerda. The animals covered a distance as far as Sprötau before the active police search had to be interrupted due to other operations. Thanks to rapid dissemination on social networks and the efforts of animal lovers and employees of the Sömmerda animal shelter, the three runaways were finally located and secured.
As it turned out, they were the same horses from the previous day that had not yet fully returned to the stable. The owner finally collected the animals from a paddock - with the help of treats.
