Joachim Geilfus and Burkhard Beck-Broichsitter were honored and retired for their decades of commitment to equestrian sport at the general meeting of the German Judges' Association (DRV) in Kronberg. Both were made honorary members of the DRV and received awards from the German Equestrian Federation (FN) for their services.

Joachim Geilfus received the German Equestrian Cross in Gold, presented by FN President Martin H. Richenhagen. He was Managing Director of the DRV for over 30 years, played a key role in shaping the performance test regulations in show jumping and was intensively involved in training and further education. As an international FEI judge, show organizer and speaker, he has rendered outstanding services far beyond the work of the association.

Burkhard Beck-Broichsitter was honored with the Dieter Graf Landsberg-Velen Medal in bronze. His many years of work as a course designer, technical delegate and trainer in eventing as well as his tireless commitment to training facilities such as the Max Habel Riding Park in Süsel received special recognition. He also provided important impetus in the work of the Eventing Technical Committee, which he has headed since 2017.

Both awards underline the lasting work of Geilfus and Beck-Broichsitter in German equestrian sport.
