With her exceptional jumping power, elegance and precision, DSP Alice has celebrated both national and international success. Together with Simone Blum, she has achieved numerous milestones and conquered the hearts of equestrian fans around the world.
The story of DSP Alice began in 2007 when the dark bay mare saw the light of day at Ralf Mewes. With a prominent pedigree going back to the Holstein stallion Askari and the Oldenburg Landrebell, her pedigree was promising. Initially, the mare was sold as a yearling to the couple Kai-Uwe and Anja Fricke, after which the mare was presented at her first shows as a four-year-old.
In 2014, Simone Blum and DSP Alice found each other and began their joint journey to success. Already in 2016 they secured the German Championship for women show jumpers and one year later the two won the open classification (former men's classification), which pointed to their potential as an exceptional team. But the absolute highlight was yet to come...
At the 2018 World Show Jumping Championships in Tryon, USA, wrote Simone Blum and DSP Alice made history. With breathtaking jumps and impressive technique, they secured the gold medal in the individual competition. Simone Blum became with DSP Alice the first German female show jumper to win the World Championship title. A moment that will go down in the annals of show jumping.
DSP Alice has also participated in renowned tournaments such as the CHIO Aachen, where she showed her exceptional class. Her bounce, speed and precision have fascinated spectators and experts alike. As Simone Blum's reliable partner, she has proven to be an invaluable asset, racking up numerous wins and placings while more than earning her favorite treat: mangoes. Because on July 19, 2018, the mare and her rider won the Nations Cup in show jumping class S***** and also promoted the German team to first place in the team classification. The following year (2019), the mare jumped to 2nd place in the Nations Cup with the German team, and Alice also placed in front in the Grand Prix, in fourth place. At the CHIO Aachen 2019, the chestnut mare was also awarded the Halla Challenge Prize as the most successful horse of the show.
Shortly after Aachen traveled Alice traveled with her rider Simone Blum and her team to Rotterdam in the Netherlands for the European Championships and secured silver with the German team and placed 4th in the individual classification.
What the partnership between Simone Blum and DSP Alice so special is the deep connection they have built. Trust, dedication and joint efforts have made them an unbeatable team. Simone Blum has brought the talent of DSP Alice and through her sensitive riding she has unleashed the full potential of the sensitive horse.
DSP Alice and Simone Blum have not only changed the sport of show jumping, but have also inspired other riders. Their success shows that hard work, determination and a close bond between rider and horse can lead to extraordinary results.
With every jump inspired DSP Alice wowed spectators all over the world. Her talent, grace and exceptional performance made her a true champion. Unfortunately, the mare got injured and did not find her way back to her top form and into show jumping.
Nevertheless, the chestnut mare will return to the CHIO Aachen 2023 unfortunately not as four years ago, but between the two rounds of the Nations' Cup, to bid her farewell. We have already provided ourselves with handkerchiefs, because saying goodbye to horses that have had so many successes in their lives is always very emotional.
